Gibson Guitars Raid by Armed Federal Agents

The Gibson USA guitar company was raided by Armed Federal Agents for the second time. Warrants were served, the factory was evacuated and wood was seized. The wood is the source of the issue, according to the Justice Department. Indian wood imported for use in Gibson's guitar factory that is not 'finished' by Indian workers is being used illegally, which is NOT the case under US law.

The previous raid on Gibson has not resulted in any charges against the guitar builders, yet they have not been given the wood confiscated in that incident. This latest incident has put a serious dent in guitar production. According to the CEO of Gibson:

"What is more troubling is that...any guitar that we ship out of this facility is potentially obstruction of justice and can be followed with criminal charges..."
